Eliza Jane (Stoner ) Chiles , was born June 15, 1820 Shelby County,Washington Township, Ohio. Eliza was the second of six children (Catherine, Eliza Jane, Hester Ann, Susan, Mariah , Andrew J. Stoner) born to John Jacob Stoner (1767-1853) and Ruth Frantz (1798-1869). Eliza's paternal grandparents were Philip Stoner (1744-1828) and Platina Stutzman (1744-1818).

She married Isaac Chiles, perhaps the son of George and Elizabeth Childs of Noble County, Indiana. Eliza and Isaac Childs were married in on Nov. 24, 1840 in Shelby County,Ohio.

The 1880 census lists her occupation as housekeeping. Eliza's In 1880 Eliza was living in Jefferson, Harrison County, Iowa.

Isaac Chiles, husband, was born April 2, 1885 in Ohio. The U.S. Census of 1880 lists Isaac's occupation as Farmer. His father was born in Massachusetts and his mother in Virginia. In 1880 he was living in Jefferson, Harrison County, Iowa and farming where he died and is buried along side his wife, in Bethel Cemetery, Harrison County, Iowa

Eliza and Isaac had 4 sons:

1.Andrew Jackson Childs b. Aug. 29, 1845 Indiana-Sept.18 1921 m. Frances Case July 17, 1868 Harrison Co IA. Four children: Nellie, Vinnie, Eliza and Jesse.

2. William M Chiles b. June 30, 1846 in Indiana d. Jan. 31, 1888 m. Aminda "Minnie" Peckenpaugh, dau of Harvey Barton Peckenpaugh b. Jan. 27, 1858 Cameron, Warren Co, IL d. Feb. 9, 1908 Climbing Hill, Woodbury Co, Iowa married Dec. 28, 1869 Harrison Co. IA . 5 children: Emmet M Chiles, Charles Newton Chiles, Lulie B. Chiles, Andrew Jackson Chiles , Isaac Chiles.

3.George P Chilesb. Oct. 20, 1850 Indiana m. July 26, 1874 in Harrison Co, IA to Anna Ellison. George died Dec. 26, 1917 om Ravenna, Buffalo Co., Nebraska. 1 daughter.

4. Joseph L Childs b. Oct. 6, 1855 Nobel, Co, Indiana m. Aug. 4, 1878 Indiana Blanche Clementina Peckenpaugh 7 Children (Ira Bell, Isaac Elijah , Luella Mildred, Joseph R., GUY TRUMAN , Clifford Ernest & Florence V.) . (my great grandparents )
