Leslie was the son of Charles T. and Ellen Van Dusen Phipps.His mother died when he was young and his father remarried Elizabeth Marie Farnum of Millington , TUSCOLA CO. MICH in July 1878.The family moved to Chicago in the 1890's. Leslie worked in the Chicago stock yards and married Marie Dartsch on 23 oct. 1895.They had 2 daughters while living in Chicago.By 1900 they were living in Kansas where another daughter was born. By 1904 they had moved to the L.A. CO. area of Calif. and had 2 sons. Leslie was a Mason and Marie was a member of the Eastern Star.When Leslie passed , there were 4 grand children and when Marie passed there were 8 great grand children added .
