Marvin E. Meinnert, age 73, of Town of Sheboygan Falls, died on Monday, October 27, 2008 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.
He was born on August 2, 1935 in Sheboygan Falls son of the late William and Eliza (Hinz) Meinnert.
He graduated from Sheboygan Central High in 1954. After High School he joined the United States Army, serving in Germany.
He married Diana E. Muellenbach on May 29, 1965 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein.
The couple made their home in Johnsonville, and Marvin worked for and retired from the United States Postal Service in Sheboygan.
He was a retired Johnsonville volunteer fire fighter, and a former member of the Johnsonville Rod and Gun Club. In his free time he loved the out of doors especially, enjoying hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Diana of Sheboygan Falls, three children; Kim (Greg) Ellis of Memphis, TN, Katie Meinnert (boyfriend, Rob) of Denver, CO, Korey (Wess) Damro of Green Bay, five grandchildren; Jacob Traas of Hartford, CT, Matthew Traas of Madison, Bray, Tyler, and Sydney Damro of Green Bay, 8 brothers and sisters; Willard (Evelyn) Meinnert, Anita Derlein, Dorothy (Harold) Grunewald, Milton (Lou) Meinnert, Harold Meinnert, Walter Meinnert, Norbert (Jeannette) Meinnert, and Alice (Roger) Thomas. Many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends further survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen Klemme; a brother-in-law, Richard Derlein; and two sisters-in-laws, Marlene and Laverne Meinnert.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth, with the Rev. Arlan Schlundt officiating. Entombment of Marvin's remains will be placed in the Sunrise Cemetery in Sheboygan.
