Bill was a Tarpon Springs City Commissioner (1960-1964), and President of the family business of Noblit Insurance Agency, Inc., which had offices in Tarpon Springs, Clearwater, New Port Richey, Port Richey, and Spring Hill, Florida. This family business was founded in 1938 by his father, Granville Edwin Noblit, Jr.. Bill ran the business alongside his brother Granville Edwin Noblit, III "Bud" who was Vice-President. Bill was also involved in civic affairs as a charter member and past president of Tarpon Springs Jaycees, past president of Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce, past commander of the American Legion Post 46, Tarpon Springs, and past president of the Independent Insurers of Tarpon Springs.
The Noblit family is one of the oldest families in Tarpon Springs and Bill's grandfather Granville Edwin Noblit, Sr. was the surveyor who laid out Tarpon Springs.
