Mr. Ammann was a member of the Maroa Presbyterian church and a former member and officer of the Illinois Sheriffs Assn. He also was 52nd Degree Mason.
Arthur Conrad Ammann was born in Decatur Nov. 26, 1888, a third generation member of a pioneer Decatur family. He was a son of Albert and Katherine Kossieck Ammann and a grandson of Conrad Ammann, who came from Germany to settle in Decatur in 1855.
He was married to Martha Barclay in Maroa Sept. 31, 1911. She died October 18, 1949.
Mr. Ammann leaves his mother; a son John b.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Katharine Linn, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Grohne, all of Decatur.
Five grandchildren also survive. Two brothers preceded him in death.
The body is in the J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be at 1;30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton.
The family requests no flowers and suggests that donations be made to the American Heart fund or the American Cancer Society.
