Frederic M. Hawkins, Sr., age 79 of Pensacola, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 23, 2008. Mr. Hawkins was a longtime member of East Brent Baptist Church and was the owner of Bud and Nonie's Garden Center for over twenty years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Norma M. Hawkins; his children, Frederic Hawkins, Jr. (Lynne), Richard A. Hawkins, ( Michele) and Paul L. Hawkins (Layna); seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-grandson on the way.
Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2008 at East Brent Baptist Church with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, Florida.
Pallbearers will be Joe Johnson, Vernon Trivett, Don McVay, Melvin Marshall, Bill Menges, Bobby Graham and Wesley Whiteside.
FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 100 Beverly Parkway, is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Memorials may be made to East Brent Baptist Church Building Fund.
