Mrs. Sara A. Hirst, widow of Thomas R. Hirst, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. E. Sheaffer, of Highspire, yesterday morning at 3 o'clock, of a complication of diseases. The deceased was 87 years old. She was born in Paradise, February 15, 1838 and during her married life resided in Christiana. She was a member of the Latta Memorial Presbyterian Church, of that place. The following children survive: C. Frank Hirst, of Christiana; Harry E. Hirst, of Dayton, Ohio; Herbert Hirst, of Christiana; and Mrs. J. E. Sheaffer, with whom she resided. (Intelligencer Journal - Mar 20, 1925)
