She was the daughter of David Moore and Elizabeth Lester (Miller) Painter. She graduated from Decatur Baptist Collecge in 1926. She taught the first through the third grades at Irving Consolidated School. On July 14, 1929, she married Frank A. Allen, at her parents home in Nocona, Montague, Texas. They were the parents of Helen Elizabeth, Troy Frank, Jimmie David, Larry Lee and Edward Harrold Allen.
She was a member of the Irving Baptist Church.
