CHRISTOPHER STARNES ANDERSON WAS THE SON OF WILLIAM DAVID AND MARTHA LOU RAMEY ANDERSON.

HE MARRIED MARTHA HELEN ANDERSON ON 10 MAR 1926 IN HAWKINS COUNTY, TENNESSEE. GOD BLESSED THIS MARRIAGE WITH THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN: JAMES ELMER, VIRGINIA ETHEL, ADA BLANCHE PEARL, MARY KATE, ANDREW JACKSON, NARMEL HELEN, WILLIAM GEORGE, BETTY LOUE, J C, LOWELL ONEAL AND CARSON JUNIOR ANDERSON.

CHRISTOPHER STARNES ANDERSON WAS THE SIBLING OF KATHERINE ANN, ORBIN B, GUY, JAMES ECKEL, ETHEL ALICE, EFFIE MAY, GLEN HOMER, IRA SCOTT EARL, WILLIAM FRANK AND CARLOUS LUTHER ANDERSON.

Christopher Starnes Anderson, 81, died at 2:15 p.m., Monday at his home after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was a member of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William David and Martha Lue Ramey Anderson; his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Sarah Collins Anderson and his maternal grandparents, James and Rebecca Ramey; three sons, Andrew Jackson, Carson Junior and William George "Bill" Anderson; one daughter, Virginia Atchley; three sisters, Kathrine Anne Parrish, Effie May Duncan and Ethel Alice Anderson; and five brothers, Orbin B, Guy, James Eckel, Glenn O and Ira Scott Earl Anderson.

Surviving are his wife, Martha Anderson, Kingsport; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Smawley, Kingsport, Mrs. Betty Mitchell and Mrs. Norma Browning, both of Memphis, Mrs. Pearl Giles, Wichita, Kansas; three sons, Elmer Anderson, Rogersville, Lowell and J. C. Anderson, both of Church Hill; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Frank Anderson, Church Hill and Carlous Anderson, Rogersville.

Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Dwight Hobbs officiating.

Burial will be in the John Wininger Cemetery.
