Mrs. Rachel Elizabeth Teter Mullennex, age 91, resident of Elkins, West Virginia vicinity for the past 25 years, died at 5:12 o'clock a.m., Thursday, 5 February 1958. Crystal Springs was her home. She died in an Elkins, W.Va. Hospital.

Rachel was born 8 November 1867 in Circleville, Pendleton County in West Virginia. She was a daughter of the late Cyrus and Susannah Harper Teter. Her husband was Martin Judy Mullennex who died February 1933, and was a son of John Wesley Mullennex, a son of James and Pam Murphy Mullenax, and his mother was Mary Catherine Judy Mullennex.

Surviving Rachel are three sons: Richard Dixon Mullenex of Job, W.Va., Martin Judy Jr. Mullenex of Whitmer, W.Va., and Kenneth Mullenex of Graysville, Pennsylvania.

Also surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Rachel (Ona T. Hedrick) of Crystal Springs, W.Va., Lena Ester (Mrs. Ellis Warner) of Jane Lew, W. Va., and Lillie (Mrs. Wilbert Bible) of Endicott, New York; and 33 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 8 great, great grandchildren. One son, Charlie B. Mullennex died 1956.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family of nine children. Mrs. Mullennex was a member of the First Methodist Church of Elkins, W.Va. Rachel's funeral was conducted by John W. Lohr in the Lohr Funeral Chapel, Saturday morning at 10:00 o'clock, 8 February 1967 [should be 1958] with the Reverend H. L. Koontz, Pastor of Demeritus of the Elkins E.U.B. Church. Internment will follow in the Mullennex Cemetery with the Funeral Home in charge.
