Maggie's father, Hugh Samuel Berry, Captain in the Confederate Army, Civil War, was killed 13 Jan 1863 at the Huntsville Massacre, Huntsville, Madison County, Arkansas, while home on leave. Maggie and her mother survived and lived their lives in Madison County.
