Passed away Friday evening at Borgess Hospital following a lingering illness. She was born August 27, 1906 in Russellville, Ala., daughter of J.D. and Lura Stanford Mitchell and she had lived here for 15 years. She was married to Emmett Vandiver, October 13, 1925 in Moulton, Alabama. Surviving are: her husband, Emmett; two sons and one daughter, Homer Eugene, Mrs. Edna Margaret Weems and Harold Wayne; seven grandchildren; three brothers, William Mitchell of Russellville, Ala., Simon Mitchell of Chicago and Claude of Moulton, Ala; four sisters, Mrs. Linnie Webb of Kinney, Mo., Mrs. Josie McCulloch of Russellville, Mrs. Maude Malone of Russellville, Ala., and Mrs. Hazel Hargett of Russellville; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends are being received at the Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home. Mrs. Vandiver will be sent Monday to Decatur, Ala., where services will be held at the Basham Methodist Church. Interment in Basham Cemetery.
