Lydia Edna Hamlin was born at Lexington, Stark County, OH, Feb 8, 1848. She was married to Lewis N. Allspaugh at Clinton, OH, May 7, 1867. Two children were born to this union: Linlay Burton and Leona Catherine. The family moved to Kansas in the fall of 1876 and in 1893 they came to Oklahoma. The husband died Mar 26, 1905, at Scott, OK. Lydia Edna Hamlin joined the Christian Church at Blackwell, OK, in 1907, later placing her membership with the Christian Church at Douglass, OK, living a faithful member until her death, Sep 2, 1921, at her home in Douglass of apoplexy at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 25 days. She leaves to mourn their loss a son, Bert Allspaugh of Arapaho, a daughter, Mrs. Walter Banfill of Douglass, a brother Marcus Hamlin of Little Hocking, OH, and a sister Mrs. Vienna Cole of Akron, OH, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, other relatives and a host of friends to mourn their loss. Interment was made at the Hazel Dale Cemetery, Caddo, OK, Sep 4, 1921.
