Friends and relatives of Alton have received word that William Wheeler formerly of Alton died friday in a government hospital in Tucson, Ariz., after he suffered a heart attack. He was born in Pike County, Missouri and was the son of Mr and Mrs Benjamin L. Wheeler.
Surviving Mr. Wheeler are his widow, Evelyn and two stepsons: a son William, who is stationed in France with the United States Army:a grandson; a brother Hugh Wheeler of San Fransisco, Calif., and four sisters, Mrs Velva Buttry of Wood River; Mrs Josephine Bost, Alton and Mrs Bertha Roth and Mrs Georgia Erickson of St Petersburg, Fla.
