Born in Manchester, he was a longtime minister in the NE Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, retiring in 1978.
Preceded in death by wife of 49 years, Althea M (Rhine) Carmany, in 1986, he is survived by daughters, Faith Rice and Judith Carmany-Ignatius, both of Cleveland; sons, John C Carmany of Guernsey County and Homer E Carmany of New Philadelphia; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 1pm, at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, Canal Fulton, Rev Linda Kay Hall officiating. Interment at Manchester Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 6-8pm.
