WILLIAM BOYD ROBBINS was the first of six children born to son of Joseph Robbins and Jane Boyd. He was born Sept. 2, 1832 in Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania. He died on Sept. 22, 1914 in Storm Lake, Buena Vista County, Iowa.

William married Sarah Winsor on July 2, 1854 in Delaware County, Iowa. William and Sarah had 10 children:
1. Mary Ellen Robbins
2. Joseph Henry Robbins
3. James Robbins(1859 - 1898)m.Mary Ann Medicott
4. George Robbins(1861 - 1898)m. Alpharetta Harmer Sweet
(He was shot in David, Iowa- the only murder in the town)
5. Emma Robbins
6. Ann Robbins
7. Elizabeth Robbins
8. Birdie Robbins
9. Francis Edgar Robbins
10. Nell Robbins
