Rick Quillin of Lavon, Texas, and formerly of Decatur, passed away Oct. 11, 2008. He was born March 15, 1947, in Russellville to Cecil Eugene and Lucy Marveline Sullivan Quillin. Rick was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a buyer for Foxworth Galbraith, and served his country in the Air Force National Guard. Rick had many interests, including oil painting, sailboats, play ing guitar, studying Civil War history and riding his Harley Davidson. He was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church and the "By the Verse" Bible Class.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Susan Davenport Quillin; son, Roderick Bryan Quillin of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Julie Quillin Clay and husband, Paul, of Fate, Texas; sister, Ginger Ann Brown and husband, Jim, of Mount Hope; and three grandchildren: Mason, Thomas and Katelyn.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 West Park Blvd., Plano, Texas, with Neal Jeffrey officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Rockwall, Texas. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
