Myrtle 'Eunice' Albright of Corvallis died Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital after a two and a half year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 52.
She was born in Roseburg to Lloyd and Myrtle (Kreftmeyer) Huckins. She graduated from Oakland High School in 1964 and from Oregon College of Education (now Western Oregon University) in 1970 with a bachelor's degree in education.
She served as an elementary school teacher in Salem, Lebanon and Amity before moving to Corvallis in 1980. She worked in the business offices of the Corvallis Clinic for 13 years. She joined Samaritan Medical Group as office manager in 1995. She also restored, refinished and sold antique furniture.
She is survived by sons Jeff Albright of Portland and Tim Albright of Corvallis; father Lloyd Huckins of Myrtle Creek; sisters Lee Jorgensen of Roseburg, Kathy Cole of Dillard and Chris Sanders of Oakland; brothers Ken Huckins of Sutherlin and Steve Huckins of Clackamas; five nieces; three nephews and many friends. Her mother died in 1964, the same year she graduated from high school.
She enjoyed antiquing, gardening, reading, decorating and visiting with friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday Aug. 8, at McHenry Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gary Jones will officiate.
