Mabank, Texas - Ruby N. Hobbs, 74, of Mabank, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, in Athens, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Laurel Oaks Cemetery, Mesquite, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens (Texas). Mrs. Hobbs was born March 20, 1930, in Tift County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Alton & Annie Mae Spicer Hobbs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Haynes Watson Hobbs, who died April 13, 1975, and one sister, Josephine Bailey. Mrs. Hobbs enjoyed being outside and love to fish. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Hobbs is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell & Paula Hobbs of Kaufman, Texas, and Frank & Teresa Hobbs of Mesquite; a daughter & son-in-law, Cindy & Percy Airheart of Trinidad; two brothers, A.J. Hobbs of Florida and Larry Hobbs of Georgia; three sisters, Doris Brewer of Georgia, Lillie Mae Sauls of Georgia and Norma Francis of Florida; grandchildren, Rene, Kristina, Aaron, Justin, Serena, Sonya, Samantha, Amanda, Wes & Shannon; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Hobbs, Frank Hobbs, Percy Airheart, Aaron Hobbs, Justin Hobbs & Wes Airheart.
