Mary Lou Bobst Skaggs, 72, of Lucasville, formerly of Wheelersburg, died Saturday September 27, 2008 at Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, OH.
She was born February 6, 1936 in Scioto County, to the late Paul H. Bobst and Katharyn Vulgamore Bobst. She was a graduate of Wheelersburg High School and a member of Emmanuel Valley United Methodist Church, Lucasville, OH.
She is survived by her husband, Robert R. Skaggs, whom she married June 1, 1955, in Flatwoods KY. Also surviving are one son, Joseph Lee Skaggs of Portsmouth; two daughters Barbara Norton of Richmond, VA and Lisa Derifield of Lebanon, OH; and daughter-in-law Mary Kate Dilts Skaggs of Lucasville; one brother David Bobst of Wheelersburg. Also survived by seven grandchildren; (Bill) Michelle "Nikki" Fiumara, (Adam) Crystal Johnson, (Candice) Matthew Ramsey, Lauren Ramsey, Jennifer Skaggs, Jessica Derifield and Kylie Derifield. There are six great grandchildren; Skylar Fiumara, Caitlyn Ramsey, W. Alexander Fiumara, Andrew Ramsey, Aidan Johnson, and Kayla Ramsey-Abbott. She is also survived by one sister-in-law Carolyn Bobst; one daughter-in-law Kathy Skaggs; and two son-in-laws, Michael Norton, and Derek Derifield.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl "Sonny" Bobst.
Services were held Monday, September 29, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Harrison-Pyles Funderal Home in Wheelersburg, with Pastor David R. Cottrell officiating. Burial was held in Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg, OH.
