John died in August of 1826 and was buried on the plantation owned by son Hooper in the family grave yard known as the Eiland Caffey Herrington grave yard.
Because of is patriot status his remains were repatriated to Oakwood but the rest of the family remained behind.
Anyone visiting the Caffey Eiland Cemetery will need to contact my cousin, Walter Sellers, as he owns the land.
Much appreciation to the contributor who added his patriot legacy record. That is totally awesome.
