DOROTHA W. (ROWE) JORGENSEN was the second of three children (Ralph Edward, Dorotha W., Charles Percy) born to Charles Henry Rowe and Grace Edna Nicholas living in Lake Park, IA. She was born in Lake Park, Iowa on Mar. 2, 1916 where her father was a farmer at the time. Dorotha's maternal grandparents were Benjamin Daniel Nicholas and Cora Virilla Brainard. Her paternal grandparents were Percy Augustus Rowe and Florence May Knowles of Lake Park, Iowa.
In 1940 they were living in Anderson, Indiana where Dorotha attended Anderson College and completed her first year.
On July 5, 1932 in Sisseton, SD Dorotha married Gunnar Jorgensen She was 16 yrs. old at the time. Gunnar was the son of Christen Jorgensen and Anna Cathrine Marie Jensen, Danish immigrants from Hjørring, DK who lived in South Dakota. Gunnar was raised Baptist but became a Church of God minister.

Then began work as a Draftsman for North American Aviation Corp. Working later on Vanguard. Korean War Pilot, Attorney of law.
2. .Joyce Edna Jorgensen b. Sept. 7, 1939 Anderson, Indiana. d. May 22, 2022 Sherwood, Oregon. aka Alister Jones, Graduated from H.S. in Compton, CA. Graduated from Los Angeles City College with a degree in Nursing. Profession: Director of Nursing in Oregon. not married.
Dorotha and Gunnar moved from Marvin, SD to Anderson, Indiana where they attended Anderson College. They moved to New Rockford, ND then Bowdon, ND (1949-1957) where their two children were raised. In 1957 they moved to southern California and lived in Compton,CA then Salem, Oregon and finally in Oceanside, CA where they pastored before they retired. Dorotha took care of her parents, Grace and Charlie Rowe when they no longer could live with her they were put in a nursing home for a short time.
Dorotha was preceded in death by her husband, Gunnar Jorgensen (1909- 1999}; her parents, Charles H. Rowe and Grace Edna Nicholas ; and her brothers, Rev. Ralph Edward Rowe of Richland, MO and Charles Percy Rowe of Springfield, MO and one granddaughter Pamela Joan Jorgensen (1960-1991)of Long Beach, CA.
She is survived by her son, Donald K. Jorgensen(Sr.) of Buena Park, CA and daughter Joyce Jorgensen aka Alister Jones of The Dalles, Oregon. A grandson, Donald K. Jorgensen, Jr. of Oceanside, CA and two great grandsons: Ryan Keith Jorgensen Dodd of The Wirral, England and Landon Jacob Jorgensen of Oceanside, CA.
