Sarah was 46 years old and had 9 children with Daniel Moncure Davis. Daniel truly loved her and on her tombstone he had engraved:
"She was a kind and affectionate wife, A fond mother and friend to all, Lord she was thine and not mine own, Thou hast not done me wrong, I thank thee for the precious loan, Afforded me so long".
