RICHARD JOSEPH RENNER, 90, died at 2:40 p.m. Oct. 7, 2005, at Van Crest Assisted Living Center.
He was born Sept. 17, 1915, in Cudworth, Saskatchewan, to Chris and Rosa Niemeyer Renner, who preceded him in death. On May 24, 1939, he married Imelda Angela Ricker, who survives in Delphos.
Mr. Renner was a retired lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 1362. He was on the board of directors for Community Oil for six years and the United Equity Elevator for nine years.
Survivors also include five children, Angela (Donald) Hoehn of Delphos, Robert (Louise) Renner of Van Wert, Kenneth A. (Carol) Renner of Delphos, Arlene M. (Ronald) Wagner of Delphos, and Doris Ann Sturgeon of Lima; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil Renner; a sister, Sister Mary St. Aloysius; and a great-granddaughter: Hope Renner.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp-Orians Funeral Home in Delphos, where there will be a K. of C. rosary service at 7 p.m. Monday followed by a parish wake service at 8 p.m.
