Mrs. Shultz, of Canby and Long Beach, Wash., died as the result of a house fire.
She was born to Kenneth Eugene Pyle and Jessie Geneieve Barker. Her father survives, residing in Michigan. Her mother preceded her in death.
She received a degree in teaching and Masonic music at Bowling Green University in Ohio. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
On Nov. 26, 1988, she married Clinton Shultz, in Long Beach, Wash. He was in the same house fire, and preceded her in death by two days.
Mrs. Shultz was a teacher, real estate agent, a registered nurse and a nursing home surveyor for the state of Oregon.
She was a member of the Elks, Eastern Star, Mazamas and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an Episcopalian.
Family members said her hobbies were mountain climbing, camping and hiking.
She is survived by a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Seifert of Rochester Hills, Mich.; a son, Paul Carter of Vancouver, Wash.; a daughter, Elizabeth Carter of Vancouver, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Michelle Shultz and Heather Clarke of London; and a grandson, Liam Clarke of London.
