He was born April 22, 1929, to Albert W. and Eunice (Cole) Peterson.
He was a graduate of Exeter High School in 1948. He worked his entire life as a self-employed dairy farmer, retiring in the late 1980s. Even after his retirement, he still continued to farm, raising pigs and beef cattle.
In his younger years, he also worked as a Fremont police officer and drove a mail truck to several locations in New England and to the Bronx, N.Y.
He served one term as selectman for Fremont from 1970-1973.
IN HIS LIFE: He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia (Walker) Peterson of Fremont; one son and his wife, Albert and Judy Peterson of Fremont; two daughters and their husbands, Linda and John Lennon Jr. of Exeter, and Brenda and Scott Barthelemy of Fremont; six grandsons, Philip Peterson, Jeremy Peterson, Lester Barthelemy, Lance Barthelemy, Mitchell Lennon, and Jack Lennon; three sisters and their husbands, Louise and Dan Harvey of Epping, Alberta and Roland Schreiber of Fremont, and Ann and Edward Burtt of Epping; several nieces and nephews, and his close friend and dog, Harris.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the family home at 152 Martin Road, Fremont, NH. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Sleeper Cemetery, Martin Road, Fremont. The Rev. John Hastings will officiate.
