Petty Officer 3rd Class Michael A. Gentile attended schools in Maine and Watertown, New York. He graduated from Lawrence High school in Fairfield, Maine, as an honor student. He enlisted in the Navy on July 5, 2005. Michael was killed at age 21 in an accident aboard the submarine USS Nebraska where he was serving as a machinist's mate.
