Born in Hudson on March 30, 1922, Armand was a son of the late Auguste J. and Rose Anna D. (Hudon) Soucy.
Educated in Nashua schools, Armand served with the Army as a medic in New Orleans during World War II.
Armand married the former Mary F. Viens of Hudson on July 4, 1942. They made their home in Nashua for many years before moving to Hudson in 1967 and enjoyed many winters in Ponce Inlet, Fla.
Mr. Soucy began his career as a welter at the former J.F. McElwain Shoe Company in Nashua for several years and then worked at Nashua Corporation in the specialty-printing department for 25 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the retired Craftsmen's Club at Nashua Corporation.
Armand loved life and especially loved entertaining and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling and gardening. Mr. Soucy was a communicant of St. Kathryn Church in Hudson and held membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 483 of Nashua.
Members of his family include his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary F. Soucy of Hudson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia A. and James E. O'Brien of South Portland, Me., and Jane E. and Anthony E. Fucci of Hudson; three granddaughters, Kelly L. O'Brien and Jennifer R. O'Brien, both of Manchester, and Megan E. Fucci and her partner Christian Wenzel of New York City; a sister and brother-in-law, Blanche A. 'Bianca' and Charles H. Farwell Jr. of Nashua; a sister-in-law, Beatrice L. Soucy of Nashua; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
One of nine children, Armand was predeceased by four sisters, Jeanne A. Labine, Germaine C. Soucy, Therese E. Soucy and Beatrice M. Soucy; and three brothers, Lionel G. 'Speed' Soucy, Robert J. Soucy and Paul E. Soucy.
SERVICE: A period of visitation will be held Friday from 10-11:15 a.m. at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at noon in St. Kathryn Church, 4 Dracut Road, Hudson. Friends are invited to attend and are asked to gather at the church. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson. The family has requested that donations may be sent to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054.
