Matthew Geraughy, died at his home south of Scott Friday, April 20 as a result of stomach trouble, having been sick a couple of days. The funeral was held at the home Saturday afternoon conducted by Elder A.C. Layman of Hinton and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near Scott. Mr. Geraughty was born in Ireland in 1847 and immigrated to New York in 1881. He resided in Kansas a number of years, from where he moved to El Reno and two years ago he came to his farm near Scott. Mr. Geraughty was well know all over Canadian County from his long residence in EL Reno. He served several years there on the police force and was a very efficient officer and very popular. He leaves a wife, three sons, and a daughter to mourn his loss.
