George A. Patterson, 38, Hagerstown Route 2, Mt. Tabler Road, died Saturday at 11:59 p.m. at the Washington County Hospital. He was taken critically ill December 23 with a blood clot on the brain and was removed to the hospital the same day.
Born near Waynesboro, he was the son of George W. and Emma M. (Patterson) Patterson, and lived his early life in Waynesboro. He was in the service for three years during World War II, after which he resided in Hagerstown for a year and at his late residence for nine years.
Employed by Fairchild Aircraft and the Bester-Long Company, he is survived by his wife, Helen (Byers) Patterson; his father, of Waynesboro; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Agnes Driscoll, New York City; Mrs. Catherine Miller, Hagerstown, Route 2; Miss Mary Patterson and Mrs. Betty Calimer, both of Waynesboro, Route 4, and Gerald and James Patterson, Waynesboro.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., from the Calvary Tabernacle, West Third Street. Rev. Henry Burkett, Dr. B. Clinton Ritz and Rev. Charles Barnhart will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mont Alto.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the Grove Funeral Home or at the church an hour before the service Wednesday.
