Patricia was a wonderful little sister! She had a tough life. She was autistic, but very smart and she went blind at age 10. She wore hearing aids in both ears, but heard very little. She learned to sign in her hand and during school she attended the Kansas School for the Deaf and Blind in Olathe, Kansas. She lived with her teachers family in Shawnee, Kansas. When she first went to live with them they had one very young son and through the years she gained two more little brothers. After her high school years, she continued in a training program and went to work using the Bus transit in Kansas City, Ks. She worked full days and return home on the bus. Her favorite activity was to go jogging with her foster Dad, up and down the hills of Shawnee. In her late 20's her brain started shutting down and her health deteriorated to where she was unable to work anymore and she was no longer able to remain with her family and lived in Winfield until her death at the age of 32.
