OBITUARY :
HARVEY A. "BLACKIE" MORROW, 76, of 447 W. Fifth St., Waynesboro, died at 2:46 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 1993, in the emergency room of Waynesboro Hospital. He had been in failing health the past three years. Death was unexpected and attributed to heart failure.

Born March 18, 1917, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late James Willis (Bill) and Bertha Dorothy (Baker) Morrow. He was a life long resident of the Waynesboro area.

Mr. Morrow served in the Army National Guard for a number of years and then was placed on active duty in the U. S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He was a carpenter and a plumber for various construction companies, and prior to retiring, he worked for the Frederick Construction Co., Frederick, Md. He retired in the early 1970's. He also did part time cooking and bartending at the Waynesboro Owls Club.

Mr. Morrow was a life member of the Mechanic SFE & Hose Co. No. 1, William Max McLaughin VFW Post No. 695, both of Waynesboro, and the Waynesboro Order of the Owls Nest No. 1073, where he served as vice president for a number of years.

He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy J. Kaiser and Rebecca L. Stottlemyer, both of Waynesboro; one son, Harvey E. Morrow of Shippensburg; two step-daughters, Anna M. Clever and Goldie M. Kauffman, both of Waynesboro; two stepsons, Boyd F. Rowe and Earl L. Rowe, both of Waynesboro; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ester R. Bowders of Waynesboro and Emma E. Downin of Rouzerville; and two brothers, Frederick E. Morrow of Waynesboro and Robert E. L. Morrow of Poughkeepsie, N. Y.

He was preceded in death by his companion, Anna Louise (Rowe) Moser, who died Jan. 3, 1990, five sisters and four brothers.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wenesday in Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, Graveside services will be conducted by Chambersburg VFW Honor Guard Post No. 1599.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
