CAPTAIN, U.S. ARMY MEDICAL CORPS, 1946-1948.
Son of Andrew & Anna (Marcincin) Anderko and husband of Elizabeth M. (Rahn) Anderko. He was a 1937 graduate of Reading High School, graduated from Temple University AB in 1941 and Hahnemann University Medical College in 1944. He interned at St. Josephs Medical Center, Reading, from 1944-1945 and did his residency at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown, from 1945-1946. During his time in the military he served in various general hospitals in the U.S. and also served on staff of the 32nd Station Hospital in Ascom City, South Korea, from September 1946 through December 1947. He was discharged from active service in January of 1948. Dr. Anderko was a fellow of the American Society of Contemporary Medicine and Surgery, a member of the American Medical Society, Pennsylvania Medical Society and Lehigh County Medical Society. He served previously on the staff of Sacred Heart Hospital, staff of the former Allentown General Hospital, staff of Cedarbrook Home and Hospital, medical director at Cedarbrook Home and Hospital, school physician for Salisbury Township School District and also the Allentown School District.
