Marlin Thomas Guild, 60, a long time Nevada resident passed away on August 4, 2008. Born on Feb. 16, 1948, he was raised in Yerington and attended local schools and the University of Nevada Reno, graduating with Bachelors and Master's Degrees. He also received a War College Degree. He served in the U.S. Army for 33 years in Germany, Japan and the U.S.A. He served his last years at the Pentagon and retired from active duty in 2001. He continued to serve as a consultant on military affairs as well as coaching local high school football teams. He was active in his church and devoted many hours to youth sport programs and numerous service activities.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Guild of Yerington. He is survived by his mother, Rolene Guild of Yerington; wife, Misako; sons, Stephen and Adam of Springfield, VA; sister Monica (John) Berhman of Escondido, CA; nephew, Patrick Berhman of Albuquerque, NM; niece, Erin Berhman of Kailua, HI; cousins, Gloria (Perry) Miller and Patty Bussio of Reno, and Jack Perry of Elko, NV; cousins, Diane Guild of Olympia, WA and Bill Guild Jr. and Ruth Rought of New Milford, PA. A memorial service was held in Springfield, VA on Saturday, August 9. Burial will be at Arlingtion Cemetery on October 23, 2008 with full military honors.
