James W. Frey was born April 28, 1931 and passed away at St. Mary‘s on August 11, 2008. James served the US Navy during the Korean War. James began his career as a news photographer in CA. In 1961 he moved to Reno and became a news photographer for the Reno Gazette Journal. Later on James established the first photo lab at John Ascuaga‘s Nugget. Jim became well known for his photo‘s of well known entertainers. James is survived by his wife of 49 years, Karyl D. Diltz Frey; stepdaugher, Kathy A. Hammon of Tahoe and son, Anthony W. Frey of Reno. James was cremated at his request. No formal services will be held.
