On Aug. 6, 1930, in Woodstock, Ill., she married Owen Keith McDonald. He died Feb. 20, 1993.
She attended teacher's college in Normal, Ill. She was an elementary grade school teacher in Timber Township, Ill., and then for many years for the Hebron, Ill. School District. She moved to Genoa City from Glasford, Ill., in 1948 and then to Whitewater in 1998.
She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Genoa City. She enjoyed crafting and music.
She is survived by three daughters, Sabra Burkoth, Pell Lake; Mary Miller, Burlington; and Teresa Hering, Whitewater; and three sons, William, Lake Geneva; Gary, Silver Lake; and Paul, Bonita Springs, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Hope Roth, Morton, Ill.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra McDonald; two sisters, Bernice and Zelda; and one brother, Hugh.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Genoa City, with the Rev. Mark Schowalter officiating. Interment was in Bloomfield Cemetery. The family suggested memorials to the Alzheimer's Association. The Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home, Genoa City, is handling the arrangements.
Mildred and Keith are buried next to each other with one headstone.
They had a daughter named Sandra G. McDonald (1938-1945). She was seven years old when she died. Sandra is buried with her own headstone just to the left of her parents.
