Mrs. Harry Snyder, Former Resident
Mrs. Bertha E. Schmid Snyder, 84, of Chino, Calif., formerly of Lancaster, died on Sunday at the Palomares Center, Pomona, Calif., after an illness of several years.
She was the widow of Herbert J. Schmid, who died in 1958, and the late Harry F. Snyder, who died in 1977.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Eva Goss Stetter. She resided in Lancaster before moving to Chino, in 1979. She was employed in the Hamilton Watch Company in the cafeteria. She retired in 1962.
She was a former member of St. Luke's Evangelical and Reformed Church and later the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church and former choir member and Sunday School teacher in both. She also served as a past president of the Auxiliary of the Blind Association.
Surviving are four daughters: Charlotte M., wife of Richard P. Lutz, Ontario, Calif.; Arlene S., wife of Myron E. Wolf, Lancaster; Mary Jane Phillips, Eureka, Calif.; Earla M., wife , of John Wentzel, Laconia, N.H., and a son, Herbert. J. Schmid, with whom she resided in Chino; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters also survive: Robert F. Stetter, Neffsville; Woodrow W. Stetter, Edna, wife of Carl V. Kauffman, and Jane, wife of Albert F. Ranzinger, all of Lancaster.

Schmid of Chino, California formerly of Lancaster, Pa. in her 85th year. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the memorial service from the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, 322 Hershey Ave., Lancaster, Pa. on Saturday at 2PM with the Rev. Kenneth M. Weaver and the Rev. Henry A. Minnich officiating. Interment in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Please omit flowers. If desired memorials may be sent to the Lancaster County Branch Penna Association of the Blind, Inc., 244 N. Queen St., Lancaster, Pa. 12603.
