Born September 13, 1924, in Felton, she was a daughter of the late C. Roy and Alice V. (Stabley) Heffner. Mrs. Flinchbaugh was formerly employed with McCrory Stores in York as a security guard until her retirement. Mrs. Flinchbaugh was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church of Felton. She was an extremely social lady and was often seen at the Lake Clark Club, The American Legion Red Lion Post #543, Dallastown Post #605, and the Victory Club in York. She enjoyed dining out and was a member of the Felton Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Flinchbaugh enjoyed many outdoor wildlife activities. Her favorite was driving her car spotting deer and groundhogs. She enjoyed attending Felton baseball games, playing the punchboards, solving crossword and word find puzzles, reading romance and Danielle Steel novels, and going to Atlantic City with friends and family.
Mrs. Flinchbaugh is survived by three sons, Richard R. 'Pete' Flinchbaugh and wife, Marcia of Red Lion, Larry E. Flinchbaugh and wife, Barbara of Red Lion, and Ronald 'Moe' Flinchbaugh and wife, Judith of Felton; one daughter, Cindi M. Daugherty and husband, Don 'Doc' of Red Lion; eight grandchildren, Scott Flinchbaugh, Pamela Flinchbaugh, Rhonda Harlacher, Ginger Bubb, Chad Flinchbaugh, Mark Flinchbaugh,Brady Flinchbaugh, and Brandi Daugherty; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth 'Dodie' Sowers of Red Lion; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene, Paul, and Robert Heffner, and Charles Grove; and a sister, Alma Smith.
Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
