Alton C. Aase,
Bellingham resident
Bellingham resident Alton C. Aase died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1992, at St. Francis Extended Health Care Center. He was 84.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Marvin Knutzen officiating. Burial will follow in Lynden Cemetery.
He was born June 27, 1908, in Boone County, Neb., to Henry and TaleMarie Aase. He married Myrtle Brown on Aug. 11, 1932, in Shell Creek, Neb. They moved to Whatcom County in 1936.
Mr. Aase worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton during World War Il and then worked for Mt. Baker Plywood in Bellingham for 22 years.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sons of Norway, Male Norwegian Chorus and was a former member of Everson Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of the family home; daughters Jean E. James of Bellingham and Carol Reynolds of Anacortes; brother Olaf Aase of Escondido, Calif; sisters Marie Lokken of Clearwater, Fla, and Tillie Mhyre of Tilden, Neb; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other reatlives.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 2530 Cornwall Ave., Bellingham, WA 98225.
