Shannon White, son of the late William and Julia Pierce White, was born at Aquilla on Nov. 2, 1921, and died at his home in Aquilla, on Aug. 23, 2008, at the age of 86.
Mr. White was a lifelong resident of Aquilla; he ran a TV Repair Shop for many years and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan and living room coach. Shannon was a long time deacon and very active Member of Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church at Aquilla. On Aug. 6, 1949, he was married to Dorothy Layton.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy of the home at Aquilla; four sons, Gary and Mike White, both of Grygla, Minn., Larry White of Bloomfield, and Bill White of Dexter; two daughters, Sharon Pullum of Columbia, Tenn., and Debbie Christian of Bloomfield; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Auvie, Dossie, Melvin and Truman White; one sister, Blanche Marie White; one grandson; and one granddaughter.
Visitation was held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2008.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday Aug. 26, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Raymond Hannah officiating.
Interment followed in the North Antioch Cemetery near Bloomfield.
