When Lydia May "Alida" Johnson was born on July 11, 1889, in Long Branch, New Jersey, her father, Ezekiel, was 33 and her mother, Isabelle, was 36. She married Corlies "Curl" Howland on March 8, 1908, in Asbury Park, New Jersey. They had two children during their marriage. She died on June 6, 1967, in Spring Lake, New Jersey, at the age of 77, and was buried in West Long Branch, New Jersey.

SPRING LAKE - Mrs. Lydia Howland, 77, of 519 Brighton Ave. Died yesterday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, after a long illness.

She was born in Sea Bright and had lived here nine years. She was the widow of Curlies Howland. Sr.

Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Henry Heffelfnger, with who she made her home; a son, Curlies Howland Jr., Brielle; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The J. Henry Dangler Funeral Home, Belmar, is in charge of arrangements.
