Mr. and Mrs. John Burns and Mrs. August Doll and son and Richard Shepard of Dover, N. J., where in this section attending the funeral of George Jenny [sic], formerly of Munson, stopped off to visit with relatives and friends here. The Burns and Doll families were former residents of Hawk Run and Munson respectively.
The Clearfield Progress, September 11, 1934.
Memories shared from Jim Doll, son of George, on 6/21/2014, after I asked him if he knew Aunt Martha Jenney Burns:
Yes I do remember Aunt Martha. Her and Unc (john) lived just 200 yards from Grandparents Doll. I remember they were just over the railroad tracks from Gallagher Lane on Central Ave. Aunt Martha and grandma Doll would get together every Sat nite to go to the American Legion for weekly enjoyment, both liked their beer. Grandma Doll lived with my family on Gallagher Lane after my parents bought it in 1954 for at least 10-12 years thru my high school, Army and college years until she moved in with dad's older sister, Mildred Pelka. I do have a lot of memories of both as they were only 1/4 mile from grammar school and often had lunch with them on school days. Always hated tea that they liked, I still do not drink tea. Grandma Mary was a short lady. She was just under 5' and was very petite. I had a lot of fun with her.
