Muriel "Bruce" I. McAlevy, 96, Sturgis, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at the Sturgis Long Term Care Center.

Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 9:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel and Monday one hour prior to the services at the church.

Funeral Services will be Monday, Mat 7, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Frank McKeehan officiating. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.

Muriel married Frank E. McAlevy in Sturgis on June 4, 1966. They moved to Black Canyon City, Ariz., where she lived at the Long Term Care Center since.

Muriel was a member of the United Methodist Church and the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include six sons, Roy Bruce, Ledger, Mont., Don Bruce, Sturgis, Harvey Bruce, Spearfish, Tom Bruce, Sturgis, Dale Bruce, Rapid City, and Harry Bruce, Sturgis; twenty-six grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.

Her parents, both husbands, one daughter, Helen Yates, two sisters, and one brother preceded her in death.

A memorial has been established for the Methodist Church building fund.
