Hugo was born at New Ulm, Texas on October 9, 1887, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kuehn. He attended the local grade school for his education. He was united in marriage on January 11, 1911 to Miss Emilie Schweke, who preceded him in death on November 9, 1912. To this union was born one son, Clifton Emil Kuehn. On November 17, 1914 he entered into holy matrimony again, with Miss Almida Glaeser, to which union one son, Lawrence H. Kuehn was born. Hugo spent his entire life in the New Ulm community. He was a successful farmer and took an active part in the welfare of the community, serving as director of the New Ulm Cemetery Association until his death. In addition to his wife and two sons, he was survived by his step-mother Mrs. Louisa Kuehn; three sisters, Mrs. Elsa Buechmann, Mrs. Olga Moellering, and Miss Antonia Kuehn; and two brothers, Walter F. Kuehn and Alvin P. Kuehn.
