Mary Louise was one of at least four children born to Carlos Edward Drown (1839-1918) and Harriet Newell Sandford, before Harriet died. Mary Louise was born in Manhattan, Riley County, Kansas. She married George Richard Quick on 07 May 1882 in Manhattan, Kansas. George is the son of David Nelson Quick and Mary Ann Hamilton. His father died in 1864 during the Civil War, having enlisted with Co. M, 5th Cavalry Regt Indiana.
