James G. Brown was born in Butler County, Pa. on July 27, 1811. He was the son of James Brown(1776-1859) and Hannah Harbison(1775-1848). He was one of eleven children: Robert, Mary, Margaret, Hannah, Ruth, Sarah Ann, Eleanor, Martha, Rachel and Lydia.
James died at the age of 80 on October 21, 1891 in Middlesex Township and is buried in Middlesex Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 116 Church Road, Butler, Pa. 16001
