Obit - "Charles R. MacIntyre, a member for 33 years of the Eldred School Board, and a former president of the board, died Friday, November 28, 1980, at his home in Eldred. He was 82.
A lifetime area resident, Mr. MacIntyre was born Oct. 10, 1898, in Hillside, to James and Adelaide Kerr MacIntyre. He was a retired manager of the A&P food store in Eldred; a 50 year member and past master of the Port Jervis Lodge of Masons; a member of the Sylvan-Liebla American Legion Post; a trustee of the Sunshine Hall Library, Eldred; and the deacon of the Eldred Congregational Church, Eldred.
Survivors include his wife, Lena Hill MacIntyre, at home; three daughters, Evelyn Livingston and Betty Getz, both of Eldred; and Esther "Peggy" Gothard of Stroudsburg, PA; two sisters, Bessie Hill of Eatontown, NJ, and Adelaide Kalin of Pond Eddy; a brother, Edward MacIntyre of Indian Orchard, PA; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
A Masonic service was held at the funeral home on Saturday. Services were held at the Eldred Congregational Church on Sunday in Eldred with the Rev. Richard Hotzler officiating.
Burial was in the Eldred Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eldred Congregational Church or the American Legion Ambulance Corps, Eldred."
