Patton T. Drewry was the son of George Washington Drewry, Sr. and Susan Hendrix. He served as a Private in Company "L" of the 1st Arkansas Cavalry, Union during the Civil War under Captain Joseph S. Robb and led by Colonel Marcus Larue Harrison. He enlisted as a nineteen year old Private on 27 Aug 1863 in Washington County, Arkansas

He was married to Mary Ann Skelton on August 28, 1865 in Fayetteville, Washington, Arkansas
