Esther was the daughter of Charles & Eliza Ann (?) Grinnell and was born somewhere in NYC. She was married, c. 1895, to John Thomas Hill and they had seven children together.
Obit - "Mrs. Esther Grinnell Hill, wife of John Hill, died at her home in Eldred at 8:30pm on Wednesday, August 15th, after a short illness. She was 50 years of age.
Deceased was born in New York City and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grinnell. For (?) years, she had lived in Eldred. She was united in marriage with Mr. Hill 28 years ago.
The surviving relatives are her husband, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Agnes Ernst, Mrs. Raymond Myers, Mrs. Charles MacIntyre, and Mrs. Oliver Hallock, of Eldred; three sons, Edgar, Alfred, and Alvin, of Eldred; and one brother, Edgar Grinnell of Belleville, NJ.
The funeral will be held at the Eldred Congregational Church at 3pm, Eastern Standard time, where the services will be conducted by the Rev. M. Bennett. Interment will be in the Eldred Cemetery."
