Glenna Aleta is the daughter of Edwin B. Stockham and Viola Harrington. A little cousin, gone too soon.

Viola Harrington changed the surname from Stockam to Stockham. The name used to be spelled Stockham before they married.

DIED.

The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Stockham was born August 1, 1904 and died September 8, 1904.
The remains, after services by Rev. Henry Martin were laid to rest in the Paradise Cemetery, on the 10th inst.

This little bud of a human flower
Will bloom henceforth in Heaven's sweet hour
And now may we when our own lives are done
Be as ready to meet the Holy One.

Glenna Aleta's father Edwin B. Stockham is the son of John Albert Stockham and Sarah Elizabeth Johnson. John Albert and Sarah and John Albert's brother William Stockham and family, all came West on the Oregon Trail in 1875 from Joplin, Missouri. The Stockham family first settled in Paradise, Wallowa Co. Oregon, and were honored as first pioneers with the Stockham name on the Courthouse Arch in Enterprise. The family had relatives across the Washington -Oregon Territory border in Asotin through Seattle.

Edwin met Viola Harrington. She was a school teacher in the small community of Paradise in Wallowa Co. Oregon. Viola was on of six children born to Edward and Ruth (Andrus) Harringon, who resided in Asotin in 1900. Edwin and Viola married on 27 August 1903 in Paradise. The next August, little Glenna Aleta was born.
